The woodland friends modeled this hat off of the mighty chanterelle, which is one of their favorite varieties of mushroom. Jeremy Owl tells us that wearing it gives him great foraging confidence, and also keeps his ear feathers nice and warm. It is made from wool felt in a rich auburn color that fades beautifully into ivory at the base. The snug fit and the felt’s naturally grippy texture helps this hat stay put on most animal’s heads, though we probably wouldn’t recommend it for toads.
